Let's Get Real Monday: Habits

Thought I'd join in the Let's Get Real Monday.

---What is one good habit that I have?

I work hard to make those around me comfortable, especially guests.

---What is one bad habit that I have?

Procrastination.

---What is one habit that I would like to cultivate in my life?

Finding something good about each and every person I meet.

I like your idea of finding something good in every person you meet. this would be a challenge, but it would sure change my outlook on life! Thanks for the encouragement!

I think that the habit you want to cultivate works very well with your good habit! Hospitality truly is a gift!

Ooooh. I procrastinate terribly.

I try to find something positive to say to people every day :) Makes for a very happier day, imo! :)

Oh - Procrastination is a tough one for me, too. I think it goes along with my disorganization. However, making a point to look for the good in others is very inspiring! I think I'll try this one myself :)

Randi, I agree it's a challenge. Especially when someone cuts you off in a parking lot or is rude, etc. but I think it comes back to having a positive outlook. And that makes you more positive and feel better.

Mom, I agree, hospitality is a gift. Once I treasure. The older I get the more I remember the small things my mother and grandmother did for me to make me feel special, loved, and comfortable. Something as simple as "my coffee cup" at grandma's house. Or my mom doing whatever it takes to make my birthday party special.

lawanda, procrastination is something i work on. my problem is usually i like to do things when i shouldn't. For instance, I should be finishing my latest book but I'm off to do some yard work instead. That probably comes from the fact that when my back is against the wall, I do my best work.

For years my DH and I have moved at least once a year and that made for very hectic house cleaning and organizing. When company would come we would stuff half finished projects and "piles" into boxes and stuff them "somewhere" to be "dealt with later." When we bought out house we really got to the bottom of the boxes. Now when company comes, there's no rush to clean up clutter. No last minute organiz-a-thon (b/c guests might look in closets, drawers, etc.). In fact, the last time we had company, we were done dusting/vacuuming several hours before they arrived.

BLISS! :)

What a wonderful trait to say something positive to everyone. I should try to do that more.

I always try to be extra friendly and give a big smile to the lady at the drive through, the clerk at the store, etc. They have such thankless jobs. And the customer service industry is often so grueling. I'm determined to never be a hateful customer. Even if I have every reason to be dissatisfied, I won't be rude. I'll just be quiet. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Sandra, I think I've come to realize, I procrastinate about things that are not at the top of my priority list.

Is that still a bad habit? LOL

I think the reason I really want to try finding something good in every person is b/c I feel like I've been programmed to just see the negative. And I'm losing my patience for that... and for people I know who are constantly negative.

Have any of you ever heard the saying it takes more muscles to smile than to frown? Maybe that's why people are negative so often.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and commenting. Means a lot that you took the time. :)
